Some of the most common oxides…

…are cobalt oxide (strong blue coloured with 99% pureness), cupper oxide, iron oxide or tin oxide.

Among other things they are used for dying your glazes, engobes and bodies. Oxides have superior effect to the carbonates.

Make your own glaze.

Would you like to find out more about making your own glaze? Then we recommend the book Glazes and Glazing techniques, written by Greg Daly. The book is well illustrated and contains easy to follow instructions how to mix your own glazes and glazing techniques.

Effects on bodies.

Some of our raw material products can be used to change your clays visual properties, for example it can give the clay bodies sprinkle or spot effects by using Ilmenite or Basalt.

When you prepare glazes or other dusty products we recommend that you use protective masks at all times. Here you can find everything from small breathing masks to more heavy duty protective masks. For you own safety always choose high quality products.
